My dear Son,
Peter[1] rang me just to say this —
There is a Senior Post going as Lectureing — Computer Science I gather — with the Nene Foundation
Trust & if you are
interested he thinks you'd stand a good chance; so far, for the Summer term, with the possibility of a permanent
position afterwards. Salary around
£6000. Peter says they move[2] on April 20th &
are having a party which they'd
like you to attend to meet this fellow. He asked for
Janet's phone No as I told him you would probably be
there around April
18th or you get in touch with him as soon as you can. The post isn't advertised yet & Peter says he
knows for sure there'll be no more
such posts for 2 yrs. Either write to Peter or to me to let Peter know how you feel about it. He says it would be
marvellous to work with you.
Trust you are well, dear. I'm getting this off quickly so you can think about it & let Peter know
as soon as possible.
Lots of love
Mother

Notes
- Peter Nalder was doing some college lecturing in Northampton at this point.
- Peter & Anni were living on the Lings estate at the eastern side of Northampton, but they had just bought a house at 34 Bostock Avenue, in the town (top left corner of the right-hand map in the bottom row here).
