This page links to the only letter in my files from 1984. It is from the British tax authorities to my mother.
Until February this year I was doing contract work and living in lodgings in London. Then I returned to my parents' home in Northampton, where I stayed until November. In mid-November I went back to contract work.
- Birthdays: My father was 85 in July, my mother 72 in March, my brother Noel was 54 in January, my sister Judith 41 in September. Judith's daughter Tessa was 17 in September; Judith's son Marcus was 7 in January. I was 39 in June.
- Hatched, matched, detached, dispatched: My father died November 14.
