Darling John & Rose,
The little picture is lovely. She looks so serene, and at home in her Daddy's arms. Judith told me
you had been having some feeding problem. I do hope it has settled down now. Rosie, dear don't be upset if she is to
have a supplementary feed from a
bottle while your nipples are sore. I know how distressing it is, I had the same problem with Judith & shed many
tears at the time, but she
thrived very well on the bottle, far better that she gets some nourishment & you get some rest & a chance to
recover. It's early days yet for
you both & a first baby can be a daunting challenge to you all, but believe me love, babies are tough little things
& it will soon be Spring
with better weather — we hope! She'll soon be smiling & gurgling at you I hope by the time you get
this Rosie you are feeling
better. I think of you constantly & wish I wasn't so helpless to you. & old & far away. Rest when you can
Rosie & don't be afraid to
accept help from anyone who offers to give it if you know them
Ever in my thoughts
Your loving
Mother
