Two relevant facts about Mrs Derbyshire:
- She is a keen gardener.
- She works at home. Her work computer is right against the window overlooking our back yard, which she lovingly tends. On a midwinter evening the window looks out on a sunset sky.

在日落时工作
齐红玫
窗内荧光窗外霞
不喜荧光只爱霞
安得长绳系落日
长留彩色满天涯
In pinyin:
Zài rì luò shí gōng zuò
Chuāng nèi yíng guāng, chuāng wài xiá.
Bù xĭ yíng guāng, zhĭ ài xiá.
Ān dé cháng shéng jì luò rì
Cháng liú căi sè măn tiān yá?
My translation:
Working at sunset
Inside my window a glimmering screen, outside a rosy glow.
I don't care at all for the screen, I only love the glow.
Where can I find a long rope to tie down the sun,
Filling creation forever with those colors?
