The letters linked to from this page were written in 1973. In early August this year I went to New York. I stayed with friends for a few days, then took lodgings in the city. In November I moved out to New Rochelle. The last three months of the year I was working as a dishwasher and general kitchen help at various places around the city and suburbs.
- Birthdays: My father was 74 in July, my mother 61 in March, my brother Noel was 43 in January, my sister Judith 30 in September. Judith's daughter Tessa, my niece, was 6 in September. I was 28 in June.
